Chan and Kashmir Khangura complete twelfth acquisition

Whitegates is pleased to announce that experienced Franchise Owners Chan and Kashmir Khangura have completed their twelfth acquisition, further strengthening their presence across West Yorkshire with the addition of Claire Ramsbottom’s lettings portfolio in Huddersfield.

Chan, Managing Director of Whitegates Huddersfield, Brighouse, Mirfield and Pontefract, has been an established Franchise Owner since 2012 and has built a strong reputation for sustainable growth through organic methods and the acquisition of high-quality independent agencies. This latest transaction continues that strategy, enabling the business to further expand its managed lettings portfolio while maintaining continuity of service for landlords and tenants.

Under the agreement, Claire Ramsbottom’s lettings portfolio will be integrated into the Whitegates Huddersfield operation, ensuring a seamless transition and ongoing support for existing clients. Claire will continue her professional journey within the local property market, focusing on residential sales and remaining a familiar face to many customers in the area.

Speaking about the acquisition, Chan Khangura said: “This was an excellent opportunity to acquire a well-managed, high-quality lettings portfolio that complements our existing operation. Claire has built strong relationships with her landlords over the years, and we are committed to maintaining the same level of service and care they are used to. Our team is looking forward to welcoming both landlords and tenants into Whitegates and supporting them through the transition.”

This marks Chan and Kashmir’s twelfth completed acquisition, reflecting a long-term strategy centred on strengthening their lettings base through carefully selected bolt-on businesses. Their business group now manages a substantial portfolio across Huddersfield and surrounding areas, supported by an experienced senior leadership team and the wider resources of The Property Franchise Group.

Claire Ramsbottom, Claire Ramsbottom eXp, commented on the transition: “The time was right to focus entirely on residential sales. My new brand, Claire Ramsbottom eXp, is built around delivering a personal, high-level service and that takes real time and attention. Strategically it made sense to move my landlord clients to someone with the experience and infrastructure to support them as legislation and compliance continue to evolve, and Chan and the team at Whitegates were the natural choice. I’m proud of what I built over nearly a decade, and I know my clients are in excellent hands.”

Chan added that acquisitions will remain a key part of the group’s long-term growth strategy: “Our approach has always been to grow sustainably by integrating good quality lettings businesses into our existing structure. It allows us to offer greater stability, stronger compliance processes, and enhanced marketing support for landlords. With the team and systems we have in place, we are well positioned to continue expanding when the right opportunities arise.”

Rob Smith, TPFG Group Managing Director, welcomed the latest milestone: “Chan and Kashmir continue to demonstrate the benefits of a strategic, well-planned approach to growth. Completing their twelfth acquisition is a significant achievement and reflects both their commitment to the Whitegates brand and their strong standing within the local property market.”

The integration of Claire Ramsbottom’s lettings portfolio will take place immediately, with landlords and tenants receiving direct communication and support throughout the transition. The acquisition further reinforces Whitegates Huddersfield’s position as one of the leading lettings operators in the area, combining local expertise with the scale, systems, and support of a national franchise network.
