Whitegates is pleased to announce that experienced Franchise Owners Chan Khangura and Kashmir Khangura, along with Associate Director Liam Reilly, have completed their thirteenth acquisition, further strengthening their presence across West Yorkshire with the addition of Intelligent Lettings, covering Huddersfield, Wakefield, Pontefract and surrounding areas.
Intelligent Lettings, previously owned and operated by Nick Heaton and Tracy Heaton, has built a strong reputation for delivering a reliable and personal service to landlords and tenants across the region. The acquisition represents another strategic step in Chan and Kashmir’s continued expansion, enhancing their already substantial managed lettings portfolio.
Chan, Managing Director of Whitegates Huddersfield, Brighouse, Mirfield and Pontefract, has been an established Franchise Owner since 2012 and has consistently pursued a growth strategy focused on both organic development and the acquisition of high-quality independent agencies. The addition of Intelligent Lettings aligns with this approach, further strengthening the group’s footprint across key West Yorkshire locations.
Under the agreement, Intelligent Lettings’ portfolio will be integrated into the Whitegates operation across both Huddersfield and Pontefract offices, with Pontefract headed up by Liam Reilly who was appointed as Associate Director in 2024. This will ensure a smooth transition for landlords and tenants, with continuity of service remaining a top priority. The existing relationships built by Nick and Tracy over the years will be carefully maintained, supported by Whitegates’ established infrastructure, compliance processes, and marketing capabilities.
Speaking about the acquisition, Chan Khangura said: “Intelligent Lettings is a well-respected business with a strong local presence across Huddersfield, Wakefield and Pontefract. Nick and Tracy have built excellent relationships with their landlords, and we are committed to maintaining the same high standards of service. This acquisition is a natural fit for our existing operation, and we look forward to welcoming their clients into Whitegates and supporting them going forward.”
This latest transaction marks the thirteenth acquisition completed by Chan and Kashmir, underlining a long-term strategy centred on strengthening their lettings base through carefully selected bolt-on opportunities. Their business group now manages a significant portfolio across multiple territories, supported by an experienced leadership team and the wider resources of The Property Franchise Group.
Rob Smith, Group Managing Director of The Property Franchise Group, commented: “Chan and Kashmir’s continued growth is a clear example of what can be achieved through a disciplined and strategic approach to acquisitions. Reaching thirteen completed acquisitions is an impressive milestone and reflects their dedication to building a high-quality, sustainable lettings business within the Whitegates network.”
The integration of Intelligent Lettings will take place immediately, with landlords and tenants receiving direct communication and ongoing support throughout the transition. The acquisition further reinforces Whitegates Huddersfield’s position as a leading lettings operator in the region, combining strong local expertise with the scale and backing of a national franchise network.
