Hunters Estate Agents Agency is proud to reaffirm its commitment to supporting local communities through its charitable initiative, The Nikki Waterhouse Trust. Established in February 2015, the Trust was created in memory of much-loved colleague and friend Nikki Waterhouse, who tragically passed away in 2013. Nikki’s legacy lives on through the Trust, which provides financial and material assistance to children and families in need across the UK.
Over the years, the Trust has made meaningful contributions to a wide range of causes, including:
Martin House Children’s Hospice – £10,000 to provide respite and end-of-life care.
Acorns Hospice – £5,000 to support children with life-limiting conditions.
Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice – funding vital care and support services.
Changing Lives – providing laptops and bicycles to young people starting education and work.
Stanley’s sensory equipment – specialist tools for a child with a rare genetic disorder.
Thomas Stewart’s electric wheelchair – enabling him to attend college and enjoy greater independence.
Encephalitis International – funding for family respite breaks.
Beyond these, countless individuals and organisations have benefitted from the Trust’s support, ensuring that every donation has a direct and lasting impact.

A successful year of fundraising
Fundraising events remain at the heart of the Trust’s work, with supporters taking on marathons, Tough Mudders, dragon boat races, and more. The flagship annual event, the Hunters Golf Day at Easingwold Golf Club, continues to be a highlight.

Dragon Boat Racing
The most recent Golf Day, held in late summer, was a huge success, raising around £13,000 for charity. The event brought together Hunters’ staff, franchisees, suppliers, and supporters for a day of sport, generosity, and community spirit.
Rob Smith, Group MD of Hunters, said:
“Everyone enjoyed the day, but we couldn’t contribute so much to charities without the generosity and support of our suppliers, staff and franchisees who support us every year. We are immensely grateful.”
John Waterhouse, Hunters Auction Franchisee and Nikki’s father, echoed these sentiments, adding:
“Over the last 12 months we have made donations to many charities and individuals, and we are so proud of the help we have provided, especially in such difficult times. The Trust is a way that we can ensure Nikki’s legacy continues, and we are thankful for everyone who plays a part in making that happen.”
Keeping Nikki’s legacy alive
Since its creation, The Nikki Waterhouse Trust has embodied Nikki’s generous spirit and her love for children, transforming a personal tragedy into a positive force for good. As Hunters continues to grow, so too does its commitment to making a difference.
