Hunters fundraising efforts raise more than £21,500 for The Nikki Waterhouse Trust

Property professionals come together across Yorkshire to support children and families through The Nikki Waterhouse Trust

Hunters staff, suppliers, former colleagues and members of the local community have raised more than £21,500 for The Nikki Waterhouse Trust through a series of fundraising events across Yorkshire over summer.
The fundraising campaign began on 13 July, when the Hunters Nikki Waterhouse Trust team took part in the York Rotary Dragonboat Challenge. Under bright sunshine, the team battled it out on the water while raising an impressive £4,240.21 for the Trust.
Although the team didn’t take the overall victory, Hunters is hoping to retain its title as the event’s largest fundraiser, an accolade it has secured for the past two years.
The fundraising continued on 2 August, when Katy Huscroft of Goodmove took on a sponsored run in support of the Trust. Katy, who previously worked for Hunters, achieved personal bests for distance and speed, as well as raising an impressive £1,500 for the charity.
The summer’s fundraising efforts culminated on 28 August with the annual Hunters Nikki Waterhouse Trust Golf Day, held at Easingwold Golf Club.
A total of 24 teams, comprising Hunters employees, suppliers and local residents, took to the course for a day of friendly competition and fundraising. Alongside the golf, participants enjoyed a Pimm’s Bar, raffle and auction, helping to generate a fantastic £15,762.54 for The Nikki Waterhouse Trust.
Hunters Wetherby took the honours as the day’s top-performing team, while Hunters Ilkley was named Best Turned Out Team. The new award was introduced in memory of Michael Naughton, a former Hunters employee who devoted significant time and support to The Nikki Waterhouse Trust.
“Everyone enjoyed the day,” said Hannah Gretton of Hunters. “It was definitely worth travelling the wet M62 for this morning!”
Ian Dunlop of Hunters Easingwold added: “Martin Robinson’s organisation of the annual event is always first class. The atmosphere is always great fun, and everyone comes together for a great cause.”
The success of the golf day was made possible by the generosity of Hunters’ staff, suppliers and supporters. Particular thanks go to HomeLet, which sponsored the Halfway House, as well as Rightmove, Simply Conveyancing, GOTO Group, Yorkshire Fleet and Ignite, who supported the event through hole sponsorship and prizes.
The combined fundraising from the three events has provided a significant boost to The Nikki Waterhouse Trust, helping to support children and families who benefit from the Trust’s work.
Hunters would like to thank everyone who took part, donated, sponsored or helped organise the events. Every contribution makes a difference, and the children benefiting from the Trust’s support will be eternally grateful.
