Fine & Country Newbury launches to serve the area’s premium property market

Fine & Country has announced the launch of Fine & Country Newbury, a new licence set to officially open on 1 January 2026. The new office will bring the brand’s premium marketing, national reach and international exposure to high-value homes across Newbury and the surrounding villages.

The office will be led by Tim Hughes, working alongside Property and Sales Consultant Simonie Westacott and supported by Property Manager and Consultant Anne-Marie Lynch. Together, the team brings decades of combined experience in selling, renting, developing and styling prime residential property throughout the Newbury area.

Commenting on the launch, Hughes said:

“For our team, opening Fine & Country Newbury means we have even more to offer our lovely clients and their fabulous homes. For the local market, it means a Fine & Country team based right in the centre of Newbury, focused on providing a dedicated service for the sale of high-value properties.”

Newbury continues to perform strongly as a market town, supported by a well-educated and affluent population and a steady supply of attractive homes in both the town and its surrounding villages. While activity slowed towards the end of the year, the team reports clear pent-up demand, with many buyers having delayed moves while awaiting the Budget announcement, which came too late to stimulate significant pre-Christmas activity.

The local housing stock is largely made up of high-quality family homes, with Fine & Country Newbury particularly focused on the top quartile of the market, typically properties valued at £850,000 and above.

Fine & Country Newbury will cover the RG14, RG17, RG18, RG19 and RG20 postcodes. Newbury itself sits at the heart of the territory, with key surrounding locations including Cold Ash, Compton, Ball Hill and a number of highly desirable villages.

Hughes brings more than a decade of experience from Belvoir, where he specialised in renting and selling high-quality homes across the Newbury area. Westacott contributes extensive experience in buying, developing and selling premium property, alongside a strong background in interior design for upper-quartile homes. Lynch combines hands-on development experience with over ten years in lettings and sales locally.

Explaining the decision to join Fine & Country, Hughes said:

“Even before joining Fine & Country, we were heavily invested in best-in-class photography, videography and copywriting. Fine & Country allows us to go further, delivering an enhanced service through greater reach, PR support, national press exposure and the strength of the wider Fine & Country network.”

The move is expected to significantly increase exposure for local vendors, attracting national and international buyers as well as engaging passive purchasers.

“This broader reach creates stronger competition and ultimately helps us achieve better outcomes for our clients,

Hughes added.

Fine & Country already enjoys strong brand recognition in the area, and the Newbury team plans to build further awareness through targeted local activity, including hand-delivering Refined magazine and engaging directly with homeowners and property professionals.

Nicky Stevenson, Managing Director of Fine & Country, said:

“Newbury is a highly attractive market with a strong concentration of premium homes and discerning buyers, making it a natural fit for the Fine & Country brand. Tim and his team bring outstanding local knowledge, professionalism and a genuine passion for high-quality property, and we are delighted to welcome them to the network. We are confident Fine & Country Newbury will quickly become the go-to agency for sellers seeking a more sophisticated, far-reaching approach to marketing their homes.”

Looking ahead, the team’s focus for its first year is clear.

“Our aim is to sell a good handful of lovely homes, help owners move on to their next adventure, and clearly demonstrate the Fine & Country difference,”

Hughes concluded.
